Project Clayfield | A Meir x ZOU Build Collaboration

Project Clayfield | A Meir x ZOU Build Collaboration

When the notion of collaboration presented itself, it was only natural for leading Brisbane Builders, Zou Build, to look no further and partner with Meir for their next renovation project.

Great minds think alike, and so the concept to join forces and enhance the overall creative effort was a given.

Zou Build has transformed the homes (and lives) of Queenslanders since 2012, with their top-notch carpentry, building and design, so it was only fitting that we sat down with the one and only Christal Fysentzou - Interior Design Consultant, to talk all things design and find out how she expertly incorporated Meir tapware, sinks and accessories in their latest renovation, Project Clayfield.

When choosing your tapware, try and choose something that will be timeless and of high-quality.

Q+A

WHAT MADE MEIR YOUR GO-TO FOR PROJECT CLAYFIELD?

“We used Meir as we have used their products in a number of our previous renovations and know that they are of high-quality. The minimalistic design of their tapware suited our client’s brief.”

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE BRIEF AND THE DESIGN CONCEPT FOR THIS PROJECT?

“Our clients have a great collection of art after travelling over a number of years. To avoid colour clashes with these pieces, a monochromatic background was suggested to adopt an almost gallery-like feel to the house.”

Most certainly, as Christal states, when developing a minimalist approach, consider a pared-back palette to achieve a sense of timelessness. If you tend to style your spaces with bold furnishings or artwork, a minimalist monochrome kitchen, bathroom or laundry renovation might be just the update you need to connect eclectic spaces throughout your home.

WHICH MEIR PRODUCTS AND FINISHES DID YOU USE TO ACHIEVE A MINIMALIST AND MONOCHROMATIC DESIGN STYLE?

“To keep with a timeless and simplistic theme throughout the house, we decided to go with the Meir Round Chrome range.  Although there are a wide variety of colours within tapware, we decided to choose Chrome as it is the one colour that has been around for the longest and still looks amazing.“

While you may consider Chrome as a more functional finish, few can argue with its timeless appeal, sleek form and ability to adapt to its surroundings.

In Project Clayfield, the curvature of Meir’s Round Collection complements the geometric elements within each zone.

Meir Polished Chrome tapware delivers practicality with personality, completing both modern and classic schemes - so you can rest assured that your choices are grounded in substance and unmistakable style.

WHAT ARE SOME STYLE TIPS AND TRICKS THAT READERS CAN APPLY TO THEIR NEXT PROJECT?

“When choosing your tapware, try and choose something that will be timeless and of high quality. There are a wide variety of styles and colours out now but using something that will last and something that will not date is bang for your buck as you won’t be wanting to update it all again in a few years time.”

Several years before starting their business, Christal and her husband Chris Fysentzou renovated their own family home, with the desire to bring the same passion and collaborative energy to the community; and so, Zou Build was formed.

Evidently, it shows the power in which a spark of inspiration can be, in dramatically transforming your home and your life.

Go on, get inspired, and begin your own mood board today, to start planning your next renovation tomorrow.
